About Black Russian Inc | Chad Watson’s discography begins in 1975 on Tempo Records and then 1980 on the Oak Ridge Boys’ Superior Records with the release of his solo LP, CHAD. In 1982, he cut Not Just Another Pretty Bass with Acuff-Rose in Nashville. After moving to Los Angeles, Lawson Records released Chad’s critically acclaimed album of his treasured Country story songs. The album featured music legends Hal Blaine, Greg Leisz, and Chris Montez. Chad was the musical director for Charlie Rich (the Silver Fox) and Delaney Bramlett (Delaney and Bonnie & Friends.) As a bassist with Janis Ian, Chad received one gold record and a Grammy nomination for Ian’s Breaking Silence CD. Chad played on four David Arkenstone CD’s including World of Warcraft soundtrack. He’s also played bass with the Burrito Brothers, Freddy Fender and currently with John York of The Byrds. Chad’s early days were as an outlaw singer, opening for Waylon, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ernest Tubb, and matured into a smoother crooner on his original songs influenced by the same Country icons. Chad has been entertaining Country lovers nightly for 35 years in prominent Country clubs, concerts and private venues including the stand alone Cowboy Palace Saloon in Chatsworth, CA, where Toby Keith and countless others have used the authentic environment for videos, movies and commercials that needed that real downhome Country anywhere, USA feel. Chad’s latest solo recording was produced by Motown alumni, Artis Phillips, Jr. The song Never Sang For My Baby is Country soul at it’s finest that describes a successful, musical road warrior that regrets losing the love of his life |
