About PAPER CHASERS ENTERTAINMENT | About LYRIKK STYLEZ/RAPPER/SINGER Chris Harper always knew he wanted to be in the entertainment business but he just didn't know it was going to be music. He used to enjoy listening to his mother music since he was 4 years of age. His mother listened to Anita Baker, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Vanessa Williams. Most of the time his mother listened r & b and soul but she also some hip hop and rap for example Sir Mixalot and Ice T. That is how Chris Harper was exposed to the music he now loves, Chris Harper's first love was to be a director producer and his mother supported his dreams and helped him write a comic book called "Broom Man". This led Chris Harper to delve into the entertainment arts and he went from wanting to play professional basketball (Michael Jordan) to wanting to be a musician (Michael Jackson) then also wanting to be an author (Steven King). His mother was the first person to tell him he needed to pick one and he spent the next many years focusing on football. In his adelecent years he rekindeled a new love for music again. For example artists like Usher, Tevin Cambell, Twista, and Ludacris. Chris Harper listened to music leaking out of his cousin Tonys room which was original music made by Tony on his view and outlooks on life. Chris Harper inspired by all this started writing his own raps, his first name was T-Limerick meaning poetic joke. Chris Harper wrote rhymes and started rapping but his family wasn't impressed at first but Chris Harper but kept at it. While at church one day he met a piano man name Charles Jackson. Charles was also an accomplished musician and a singer. Chris confessed his dreams of being a rapper to Charles and Charles told him first he would have to rap something in front of him and then if he liked it he would let Chris record. Chris Harpers first 3 attempts were unsuccessful but finally one day Chris Harper put together something Charles thought was good enough to let him in the studio. Chris Harper changed his name to Lil C-Note which means Little One Hundred Dollar Bill. Chris Harper recorded his first song and was very happy with it, he showed it to alot of people at his school but it was a mediocre success. Chris Harper asked Charles what his real opinion of the song was and Charles told him he was 10% where he needed to be at as a rap artist. Chris Harper's confidence was broken and then Chris went back to the drawing board and listened to the likes of Goodie Mob and Twista. He also thought about singing and listened to Stevie Wonder and Tevin Cambell. Chris Harper then practiced singing and was met with distaste from his family members. Chris Harper then decided to get lessons and join the choir. He then learned after two years how to put together songs and was ready to go back into the studio. His family didn't support him at first but Tony heard Chris singing a Stevie Wonder song (Overjoyed) and Tony told him he could use his talent and be a singer. That gave Chris the motivation to become a singer. Chris then put together his first song called "Tired Of Feeling This Way". He called Charles and told him he wanted to record again, Charles told Chris to sing a song. Chris sang Overjoyed and Charles told him he was a better singer than rapper. The Chris recorded this song and let people listen to it and people liked the chorus but weren't to fond of the versus so Chris had to have another heart to heart with Charles. Charles told him he wasn't there yet as a singer then Chris graduated from highschool and went to college where he took vocal lesson and was also being taught by Charles. Between this time Chris had formed a group with Marcel and two other but eventually it was just Chris and Marcel. The story of Marcel's passion began when he was about 5 years old. He loved listening to his grandmother's old record which were vinyls. One day while listening to Stevie Wonder it came to him and he knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life, he wanted to be a singer like Stevie Wonder. From then on Marcel would sing almost everyday behind closed doors and just to himself. He loved listening to R @ B and Soul music like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, and The Temptations. When Marcel was 7 years old he sang to the first person he ever sang to which was his grandmother. She told him he was a good singer and he should keep with it and he did. He only sang to himself until he got into highschool, after all the years of practicing Marcel finally gathered enough courage to sing to someone else. Those people were his best friend Frank and Frank's brother which was also Marcels friend named Silas. After Marcel finished singing to them he saw a look of shock on both their faces. They thought Marcel could sing very well and that boosted Marcel's confidence just a little. Marcel kept practicing and started singing to more and more people getting the same result, them saying he could sing. After all the years of singing Marcel was 16 and he was ready to show his mother he could sing. Marcel told his mom he could sing and she chucked and told him he couldn't. Marcel being hurt by this didn't sing to his mother and told himself he would never to sing her. Her saying that just drove Marcel to practice even harder and at this time Marcel had already been writing song for about 4 years but he just sang songs from artists he looked up to to people. A couple years go by and Marcel starts singing some of his own songs to people and gets alright results. Through his friend Frank he meets Chris and likes Chris's voice and they form a group but its not called Neo Legendz. They write songs together and eventually start recording them and get mixed results. When Marcel is 20 he eventually tells his mom he can sing again and she says prove it. So he does and she is shocked and says she was wrong, her son can sing. Two years of more growing musically and more practice Neo Legendz are born.
