About Rory

Rory Nevins never planned on starting a music career; it just happened that way.

The singer/songwriter from Lansing, MI started his career in college as a way to make friends laugh with a comedy/singing routine. After graduation, he bought a guitar, taught himself how to play and, within three months, began performing at various venues around town.

In 2008, he felt comfortable enough to start taking his work seriously and began writing his own music. The effort resulted in 12 songs that will make their debut on March 28th 2009 as Nevins's full-length debut album. The album, which was produced with the assistance of Scott Parks (Fate Promotions) and Ryan Wert (Elmstreet Recordings), has already clocked in pre-sale numbers in the hundreds.

Nevins's style draws on the influence of artists such as Jack Johnson, Staind, Jim Croce, Kid Rock, Johnny Cash and Led Zeppelin. He artfully blends them together for a sound that's familiar yet wholly original.

The songs on the album are intimate slices-of-life that are sure to resonate with listeners of all types. "I really like to reflect the human experience through my lyrics," he explains, "so that people can better relate what they hear to their own emotions. I think my music can help people enjoy their emotions and celebrate our differences with our perception of that emotion."
