About Paul Dunne

My name is Paul Dunne, I'm a singer/songwriter/guitarist/guitar teacher / session musician / tin whistler. I've got over 100 songs and instruments in my back catalog ranging from Jazz to Pop, Country to Rock. I'm looking for Artists to perform my songs and take them to a wider audience.
How did is begin?

I started to play the guitar way back when I was 9 years of age. I was in a school band, which contained guitars, accordions, tin whistles and percussions. We mainly played traditional Irish songs and of course the Irish National Anthem. We did quite a few gigs, playing to the President of Ireland at the time and live on TV, The Late Late Toy Show.

I was about 14 I got interested in playing rock music mainly because a friend of mine had a drum kit and I thought that it would be great if we could get some sort of band together. We did eventually get together playing mainly songs by "Poison" we never gigged we just gave the neighbours a headache.

At 16, I wrote my very first songs, called "Say You Love Me" this was the start of my lifelong love affair with writing music. A couple of years later I bought my first 4 track recording machine, I guess why I got it was to record songs with very long guitar solo's. Which I did, I wrote and recorded many instrumentals. I used to play these instrumentals to my first song writing partner David McCartney and he told me to "Stop writing instruments and start writing songs". I took his advice and I started to put more of my lyrics to music and recording them.

together mainly putting ideas down on the 4 track. We did actually start a band at one point, where we got into the second stage of a talent competition and then we split up. Dave and I went our separate ways but I've continued writing up to today.

These days, I'm colaberating mainly with Dean Taylor putting together 4 - 5 songs which once finished we will market to the country pop market.

I'm also teaching the guitar and bass, its good fun getting people to play the guitar and hopefully they will have as much fun as I've had over the years. I'm also looking for session guitar work.
