About Mia Bergmann

Hey, I’m Mia. I am a 14-year-old singer/songwriter who was born and raised in the summer beach town, Margate, New Jersey, home of Lucy the Elephant. Unlike my mother, who was a hippie and followed the Grateful Dead all over the United States, I love all things girlie such as cupcakes, make-up, beauty gurus on youtube, inspirational quotes, and bedroom decorating! I have a strong passion for music, as I believe it was injected into my blood from the womb...I grew up listening to amazing songwriters such as Neil Young, Stevie Nicks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Grateful Dead, which eventually led me to country music today. My favorite artists right now are Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift, Jake Owen, The Band Perry, and Carrie Underwood.

When I was 9 years young I came home from camp Wyonegonic (Wyo) singing “The River” by Garth Brooks on repeat. After about a week of non-stop singing, my mom asked if I would like to sing it in the benefit concert she organizes every year. I, of course, said yes and a couple months later I was on a stage in front of a thousand people singing “The River”! It was the most amazing rush of happiness and from that day I was completely hooked on performing. Since then my passion for music has just escalated enormously...vocal lessons at 10, guitar, piano & songwriting at 12, formed a band and began performing out regularly at 13! Songwriting is a way for me to be bold and express things that I can’t always express in person. I have fallen deeply in love with songwriting.
