COMPOSER'S BIO: Eric Price was born Nov. 8, 1944, and grew up in Abington, PA., a suburb of Philadelphia. He attended Abington High School, and played Bass Clarinet in the Abington H. S. band, which was chosen to march in the 1962 Tournament of Roses parade. He attended Haverford College, and later on studied classical composition at the Settelment Music School in downtown Philadelphia under a private teacher, Mr. Donald Rappaport. He composed mostly classical pieces, but had difficulty getting them performed. Eventually he decided to use melodies from his classical pieces to make popular songs with the help of music arranger, Haywood Tucker, and vocalist and lyricist Angelica Tucker. A number of such songs have now been recorded and made into numerous albums, which now contain original new songs as well as those taken from Eric's classical pieces.
