About Phil Read

Who is Phil Read?

Phil was born and raised in the City of New Orleans, Louisiana and still resides in the area. While he was growing up totally emersed within the rich culture and music which is the "Big Easy," he attended the Loyola University College of Music in New Orleans where he was a member of the award winning Jazz Lab Band for 5 years and played with the New Orleans Saints Stadium Jazz Band. He was also a member of backup bands supporting many famous artists who came to town.

Having played the night clubs of the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, the society orchestras of the city and numerous special events, his music style developed with a unique flavor. He was able to capture this style in his compositions, mixing the sultry sounds of his tenor sax with the bright, lively sounds of the soprano sax, both blending into his unique, complex compositions, which are as diverse and different as the city he grew up in!

All of Phil's musical creations are original, composed and mixed by Phil in the studio. If you like sax, jazz and something interesting and different, I think you'll like what you hear!

Phil appreciates ANY comments..... so feel free to post.....both your likes and dislikes. Track comments are what musicians thrive on to better understand how creations affect others.....what feelings are stirred up from the soul and mind by each track. In other words, write what his music does for YOU!

Remember, more albums to come in the near future so check back often.

Hope you enjoy the music!

Thanks for stopping by.
