About Francesca Evans

Francesca was born in London, the only child of her parents Eileen and Donald McDermid Robertson. Her father was a photographer and artist who loved to travel and this is where Francesca gets her artistic side from and her love of adventure and travel. She is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society in London.
As a child Francesca did well at ballet and acting and won the prestigious UK final at he age of thirteen in National Dancing. She went on to study acting more seriously and won a place at RADA in 1973. In 1975, she lived in Bressels for a while and became interested in singing in folk clubs and there she learned to play acoustic guitar.
She married her husband in 1977 at the age of twenty-one and immediately went to Saudi Arabia with Mike for four years, supporting him from his work as a banker and where she played many acting roles ranging from Noel Coward's Private Lives to the musical Cabaret. While in Saudi Arabia, she studied for a degree in Interior Design passing with distinction and during this time her first daughter, Lauren, was born and Francesca continued to act and undertake some radio work. She was and is an avid tennis and golf player,
On their return to the UK, her second daughter Carina was born and for a few years she was concentrating on raising her family, before setting up an interior design business as well as continuing in many varying acting roles on stage. Her work has been featured in many Lifestyle magazines, such as House and Garden, Phoenix Homes and Garden, and Beautiful Homes.
Francesca's charity work is extremely important to her and for seven years she was Chair of Save the Children in London. She is a founder member of the Tick Tock Club for Gt. Ormond Street Hospital, London, campaigning for heart and lung transplant machines for sick children.
One day a few years ago, she found her old dusty guitar in the loft and started tentatively to strum the songs she remembered from her folk club days and fell in love with the music all over again. Her first CD was a major undertaking as it was a double CD with 34 tracks: Francesca doesn't DO 'easy'.
Francesca will be premiering her latest CD; Loose Ends, in July 2011, with eighteen new tracks featuring its title track "Loose Ends"
