| About Phobos Corp. | The idea behind the mastermind Sympho Metal project PHOBOS CORP. started when Spyros Papadakis was 15 years old. New bands and new sounds were discovered through the traditional heavy metal bands and of being an avid fan of film soundtracks from Hans Zimmer (his biggest influence), Vangelis, Danny Elfman and Basil Poledouris, but admiring also more contemporary artists such as Yanni, Brian Eno and Kitaro, the idea was slowly growing for a personal project that combined different musical elements together - a sort of amalgamation of various genres and styles. Phobos Corp. is without a doubt a project, because of the complete artistic and creative freedom in terms of the music Spyros composes. Having said that, it doesn't mean that Phobos Corp. would never function in the future with a complete default line-up for recording and, mainly, touring purposes, because taking this project on the road has a high priority. The debut EP “As The Angel Stared” gained a bit of recognition in 2005 within the underground scene and mainly around Greece, having been featured in some sites and a couple of independent radio stations. Yet, there was still something missing in the sound. Moving forward to 2011, for the past 6 years Phobos Corp. has been further experimenting with sound and, thus, just like a fine red wine, the sound of the band has matured to what it is today. The newest EP, aptly entitled "Felicity" will be released worldwide in June 2012 and has already garnered a lot of positive feedback from a select few listeners who had the chance to listen to it, prior to official release. It features 4 brand-new songs, which are part of a concept story Spyros has been working, on and off, for the past 3 years and are a culmination of his creativity and music experience so far. |
