I have seen Alan only in Holiday Express. This was my third year seeing Holiday Expressat Matheny, I work here and well all I can say is I would love to see him again! You totally Rock!
My wife and I go to see Alan and the band as often as we can. Between the three part harmonies and the great handle that these guys have playing their individual instruments, we just thoroughly enjoy listening and dancing to their tunes. And if you can imagine, their original songs are even better than the covers. Joe D, Monmouth County
This band plays some of the best music I've ever heard. I've been following them around for a few years now and they blow me away every time. This is amazing NJ music - straight from the soul. See just one show and you'll believe! Tricia, Berkeley Heights NJ
This past Friday night I had the good fortune to see Primitive Soul. I have become a SERIOUS fan and I'm looking forward to seeing them again in Long Branch on the 4th. They played some of their original songs and I was awestruck by the words and music. Can't say enough about them! If you have a chance to see this great band, GO! Bonnie, Plainfield, NJ.
I've been listening to Primitive Soul for a few years now - definately worth going to see them live! They rock & swing the house! :o) Pat, NJ
GREAT BAND + GREAT MUSIC!!!! Saw them open up for Clarence Clemens at The Stone Pony. Followed them to several other venues. Consistantly great! I have to agree with "Brian from Central Jersey", not the same old music you hear from other bands. They are definately worth going to see as well as purchase thier album. Check them out!!!! Tom, Jersey Shore
Love this band. I heard them a few summers ago and became a fan right away. In Jersey, we get bombarded at the summertime 'shore bars' with the same old 'Margaritaville', 'Sweet Caroline' type bands. Being so close to NY City, you'd think we'd be FULL of original, or REAL blues type bands - NOT TRUE (until I heard Primitive Soul). These dudes play with heart & guts. To me, it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing (and Primitive Soul swings). Brian, Central Jersey

Alan Grant and Primitive Soul have served as the "house band" for the award-winning, unprecedented cancer event Stowe Weekend of Hope for 6 years, and boy, have they saved the day! The are not only solid musicians who can read an audience, but really are a crowd-favorite. And--they donated their services. As the organizer, I really depended on them, and they adapted to every situation. Solid, solid pros, with HUGE hearts and a whopping big soul. Love you guys--Jo, Stowe, VT
