| About Joe Sgro | Frank Leanza, arranger, composer, conductor and trumpet player is a native of Newark, New Jersey. He has been active in writing for the concert and marching bands and has written many compositions for the symphony orchestra. He is an Authorized Teacher of the Schillinger System of Musical Composition since 1950. He was awarded a scholarship to the Julliard School of Music in 1950. He teaches music theory, harmony, arranging, orchestration and music composition. He also lectures on the History of Jazz. He has conducted seminars at Grambling College, Louisiana Tech and the New Jersey Music Educators Association. He has authored 23 books on music from the elementary to college and university levels.
